Solid Gold Northwest Premium Dry Foods

"WolfCub"
Bison and Salmon Puppy Formula TM

WolfCub Puppy Food Many dogs are becoming allergic to lamb and/or beef. Solid Gold Health Products for Pets uses bison and salmon as its source of meat protein in its new food. The protein is 22% for the adult formula and 28% for the puppy.
Our non-allergic grains are brown rice, barley, oatmeal and amaranth. We use no gluten, which cause allergies. We use no soybeans/lecithin, wheat, corn or sunflower oil — the allergy causing ingredients in dog food.

We never use animal/poultry fats, which contribute to heart disease. We use canola and flaxseed oils for their health giving properties. However, since there is no category for oils in the ingredient listings, we must say our oils are fats, even though we use no fats. Oils are liquid at room temperature. Fats are solid at room temperature. Fats don't melt until 120 degrees. Dogs' temperatures don't reach 120 degrees. So the body pushes around the globs of rancid animal fat until it gets to the lower intestines where it does the most damage.

Our special ingredient is garlic which enhances the heart and helps to control flea infestation. We use blueberries to reverse some eye problems and help with bladder/kidney problems or stones. Yucca is for bone and joint problems and as a digestive aid. Our minerals are chelated for better digestion.

Solid Gold has been The Leader in Pet Nutrition since 1974, when they introduced the first natural dog food into the U.S. Since then, other companies have been trying to play catch-up. They are considered to be the wannabes.

The unique blend of ingredients in WolfCub includes:

Free-Range Bison - Our bison is free range fed, not from feedlots. No chemicals or hormones are fed. The bison are not branded, castrated or dehorned. This USDA human consumption grade meat is from Montana, Oregon and Washington.

Cracked Pearl Barley, Brown Rice, Millet - complex carbohydrates for energy, also good sources of dietary fiber.  Barley is also thought to help enhance the color of white-coated dogs.

Wild Salmon - fish is an important component of the diet for many dogs.  A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, August, 1999 70:85-90, reported that eating more fish correlates with a reduced risk of certain types of cancer.

Flax Seed, Rice Bran and Canola Oils - excellent sources of Omega 3 essential fatty acids.

* - There is no animal fat added to our foods; we use unsaturated vegetable, nut and seed oils for their medicinal qualities and the beneficial, essential fatty acids they contain.  Animal fat is saturated fat and can contribute to blocked arteries, mal-absorption of nutrients in the intestines, cholesterol problems and reduced life expectancy.  Dogs with pancreas, liver and kidney problems, have particular difficulties processing saturated, animal fats. They do very well with oils.
