Seeing is Believing... One lady imported a Rottweiler from Germany for Shutzhund training. In the sales contract, it said to feed Solid Gold Hund-n-Flocken and SeaMeal. She decided to put her whole kennel on our products. Over the next three to five weeks, some of the dogs lost some weight. Their manure, urine and breath smelled. Then, one day while she was picking up the manure, she noticed pieces of something yellow and black. It was pieces of corn kernels that were partially decaying. Since there is no corn in our food, she wondered where this toxic waste had come from. Then she remembered that nine months before, in the summer, she had given her dogs corncobs to chew on. All this time, the corn had been embedded in the walls of the colon. The change in diet had helped the dogs to detoxify and eliminate the waste. The colon has "hills and valleys" that toxic waste can get stuck in. Rancid animal and poultry fats frequently clog the colon. Toxins are held in the fat of the body, so during detoxification (which occurs with a natural, high-fiber food), the dog may lose weight and smell bad for the first few weeks. When the toxic waste is gone, the weight stabilizes and the bad smell disappears. A Bull Mastiff breeder called and said she read the part about the Rottweiler and the corncobs and didn't believe a word of it.
